History

Somalia Elephant coins in the African Wildlife Series actually started out as the Zambia Elephants. From 1999 to 2003, the Bavarian State Mint issued the coins on behalf of Zambia in the 1 oz silver and 1 oz gold weights. In 2004, the series switched to Somalia and later underwent massive expansion starting in 2016.
