Obverse
The obverse of the 2022 St. Helena Queens Virtues Truth Platinum Coin comes with a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. In this third-generation design, Her Majesty is shown wearing the George IV State Diadem Crown. This timeless design was created in 1985 for the Royal Mint by Raphael Maklouf and was used through 1997. Inscriptions on this field of the coin include 100, ST. HELENA, QUEEN ELIZABETH II, 2022, and ONE OUNCE 999.5 PLATINUM.
Reverse
On the reverse side of 2022 Queens Virtues Truth 1 oz Platinum Coins is the image of the female allegory. Here, Truth is shown standing in left-profile relief holding a mirror in her right hand as her left rests on a small child. This child is holding a palm branch in its hands. The inscriptions on this side read TRUTH CONQUERS ALL.
History
The Queens Virtues Series is based on the six allegorical figures found on the Victoria Memorial outside Buckingham Palace in London. The monument was built following the death of Queen Victoria in 1901.
