The Perth Mint has revived the beautiful designs of the Gods of Olympus Series. Starting in 2020, the deities from Greek mythology previously featured on 2 oz antique silver coins in 2014 and 2015 have now returned to production with a variety of different options. Provident Metals now has 2022 Tuvalu Gods of Olympus Hera 1 oz Silver Coins available to you for purchase online.
When you purchase these 2022 Tuvalu Gods of Olympus Hera 1 oz Silver Coins online at Provident Metals, you will receive coins that are individually encapsulated. When buying multiples, you will receive encapsulated coins in sealed rolls of 20 or in boxes of 100 silver coins. The box holds a total of five separate rolls of 20 coins each. All coins in this listing are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.
The obverse of 2022 Tuvalu Gods of Olympus Hera Silver Coins features Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is shown here in right-profile relief in the 1998 design from Ian Rank-Broadley. This effigy was popularly used on British coins from 1998 to 2015 as the fourth-generation effigy of the Queen and showcases the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara within the design. Inscriptions include QUEEN ELIZABETH II, 1 OZ 9999 AG, 2022, TUVALU, and 1 DOLLAR.
On the reverse side of 2022 Tuvalu Hera 1 oz Silver Coins, you will find a depiction of the goddess seated upon her throne. Hera sits in a slight-right-profile relief with a lotus staff in her left hand as her right hand rests on the head of the lion to her right. On her left, there is a peacock standing nearby. The inscriptions on this side include only HERA and the P mint mark of Perth Mint.
Hera is associated with fertility in women and is also a protector of women in marriage. She is the Queen of Mount Olympus, the home of the gods in Greek mythology. She is the wife of Zeus, ruler of Olympus. Her role as a protector of women in marriages no doubt comes from her own steadfast loyalty to her husband, even though Zeus famously has countless affairs with mortal women.
