The 2023 Antique Republic of Chad Silver Koi and Dragons Bi-Metal Coin is a remarkable showpiece of high-relief sculpture, partly colorized and accentuated by an Antique finish. Obverse
The coin’s obverse side shows the Republic of Chads’s coat of arms, set against the backdrop of a subtle Yin-Yang symbol. It is accompanied by the inscriptions “REPUBLIQUE DU TCHAD 2023,” and “10000 FRANCS CFA.”
Reverse
The Koi and the Dragon appear on the reverse side of this coin, identified with the elements of fire and water. A pair of colorized Koi swim in a circle above a highly-detailed Dragon, all of them swirling around a Yin-Yang symbol comprised of waves and flames, with the whole surrounded by a stylized decorative rim.
History
The Republic of Chad has produced a multitude of ambitious bullion collectibles over the years, with many of them being tributes to elements of traditional Chinese cosmology, astrology and mythology.
