Canadian Maple Leaf Silver Coins debuted in 1988. At this point in time, only the American Eagle was available annually as a BU coin each year. The Chinese Panda was also available at the time, but not with standardized weight, purity, or even annual production.
Obverse
On the obverse of 2023 Maple Leaf 1 oz Silver Coins, you will find a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty features here in right-profile relief without a crown or tiara. This 2003 design from Susanna Blunt is accompanied by inscriptions of ELIZABETH II, 5 DOLLARS, and 2023.
Reverse
The reverse face of the 2023 Canadian Maple Leaf Silver Coins comes with Walter Otts original maple leaf design. This sugar maple leaf offers a natural glimpse at the maple leaf and was created in 1979 for the debut of the gold series. The inscriptions on this side include CANADA, 9999, FINE SILVER 1 OZ, and ARGENT PUR.
History
These early 2023 Canadian Maple Leaf bullion coins are the last to feature Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majestys portrait will eventually be replaced in 2023 with a new effigy of King Charles III.

These 2023 Canadian Maple Leaf 1 oz Silver Coins are available to you in Monster Boxes from the Royal Canadian Mint. Each box holds a total of 500 individual silver coins housed in protective tubes of 25 coins, with 20 tubes in total.
