History

The Australian Kangaroo coin program dates back to 1986, when it was called the Australian Nugget Series. Those designs continued until 1990 when the Kangaroo became the official face of the series. Today, The Perth Mint releases gold, silver, and platinum editions of this iconic coin. For the standard BU gold version, collectors can purchase in weights of 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz.
