Along with this handsome wooden box, you will receive a Certificate of Authenticity from the Royal Mint. Although the maximum coin mintage is 510, only 500 coins are included in the limited-edition presentation.
Obverse
All 2023 Proof British Morgan Le Fay Silver Coins will depict the first minted effigy of King Charles III. This portrait was designed by Martin Jennings and features the King in left-profile relief without a crown. Inscriptions read CHARLES III, D.G. REX. F.D., 5 POUNDS, and 2023.
Reverse
The reverse of all 2023 Proof Morgan Le Fay 2 oz Silver Coins depicts Morgan Le Fay. The enchantress, designed by David Lawrence, is shown with a winged headpiece about to cast a spell. Inscriptions on this field include MORGAN LE FAY. MYTHS AND LEGENDS, and 2023.
History
The third and final coin inspired by the Arthurian legend in the Royal Mints Myths and Legends Series features Morgan Le Fay. This is the sixth overall coin in the overarching series though as the first three coins featured characters from the iconic lore of Robin Hood.
