History

The first book of The Faerie Queene presents an epic quest narrative that has inspired numerous great works of fantasy literature. Central to the story is a fire-breathing dragon who has captured the castle of Unas parents. Desperate to help them, Una goes on a quest to find the Redcrosse Knight, who she believes can defeat the dragon. During Unas quest, a proud and angry lion is so struck by her virtue and beauty that he kisses her feet and joins her as a watchful protector.
