Each of the 2023-S Peace Dollar Silver Coins in this offering is encased in a protective PCGS plastic slab, ensuring the preservation of its nearly perfect grade. PR69 coins exhibit full original mint luster, with at most two minor imperfections, typically small contact marks or hairlines outside the primary focal areas. The First Strike designation is given to coins graded within 30 days of their mint release.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2023-S Peace Dollar Coin showcases a left-profile bust of Lady Liberty, adorned with a radiant crown, her hair flowing freely. Inscriptions include LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRVST, and 2023.
Reverse
On the reverse side, the 2023-S Peace Dollar Silver Coin features the iconic American bald eagle, wings at rest, perched on a rocky cliff, clutching an olive branch. The horizon is bathed in the first light of day as the eagle gazes toward a new dawn. Inscriptions read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, ONE DOLLAR, PEACE, and the S mint mark.
History
Designed by Anthony de Francisci in 1921, the Peace Silver Dollar was a response to the public’s desire for a new design reflecting the peace of the post-war era. De Francisci’s design beautifully encapsulates this concept of peace.
