Obverse
The obverse side of the 2023 Somalia Elephant Gold Coin comes with an image of the coat of arms of Somalia. This design features a crowned shield in the center with a single star set against a background field of horizontal lines. The shield is supported by leopards on either side with leaves and spears below. The inscriptions include SOMALI REPUBLIC, 2023, 9999, and 100 SHILLINGS.
Reverse
On the reverse face of 2023 Elephant 1/10 oz Gold Coins, you will find a depiction of an African bush elephant. The image of the elephant comes with the head of the beast in right-profile relief with its trunk reaching into the trees to grab leaves to dine on. Inscriptions on this face read AFRICAN WILDLIFE, ELEPHANT, and 1/10 OZ AU 999.9.
History
In 1999, the Bavarian State Mint introduced the African Wildlife Elephant Series as the Zambia Elephant. From 1999 to 2003, the mint issued the coins with new reverse designs on 1 oz silver and 1 oz gold coins. In 2004, the coins were rebranded as Somalia Elephants and eventually grew to include fractional-ounce silver, fractional-ounce gold, and platinum bullion coins.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. Most Provident orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
