Obverse
In the obverse design of the 2023 Somalia Elephant Silver Coin, you will find the coat of arms of Somalia. The design shows a crowned shield with a background of horizontal lines and a single star at its center. This design is supported by leopards on either side of the shield. Inscriptions read SOMALI REPUBLIC, 2023, and 200 SHILLINGS.
Reverse
For the reverse face of 2023 Elephant 2 oz Silver Coins, the Bavarian State Mint features the design of an African bush elephant stripping leaves from a tree branch. History
African Wildlife Series coins have been available from the Bavarian State Mint since 1999. This particular design in the series was initially issued for Zambia from 1999 to 2003, and later changed to Somalia in 2004.
