History
The Faerie Queene is an epic poem by Englishman Edmund Spenser that was originally published in 1590. At a whopping 36,000 lines, the poem is recognized as one of the longest ever written in English. While there are six books in total, Book I is often cited as the most significant, with many readers viewing it as its own self-contained work.
