Obverse
In the obverse design of 2023 Proof American Eagle Gold Coins, the mint features the iconic image of Lady Liberty. Designed in 1907 by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, it casts Libertys effigy in front-facing relief with a torch in one hand and an olive branch in the other. Inscriptions include LIBERTY and 2023.
Reverse
For the reverse side of 2023 Proof Eagle 1/4 oz Gold Coins, the US Mint offers the newly redesigned American bald eagle image. Created in 2020, Jennie Norris new effigy of the eagle captures the head of the creature in left-profile relief.
