Introducing the Austrian Platinum Philharmonic Coins, a special series from the Austrian Mint since 1989. It all began as a collection of gold coins for investors, and now it has grown to include platinum too. In 2024, you have the chance to own the 2024 Austrian Philharmonic 1 oz Platinum Coins, available at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
All the 2024 Austrian Philharmonic 1 oz Platinum Coins in this collection are in brilliant uncirculated condition. Each coin is carefully placed in a protective flip. If you’re looking for more, you can choose plastic tubes with 10 coins or mint-sealed boxes with 100 coins, containing 10 tubes.
Obverse
The front of the 2024 Austrian Philharmonic Platinum Coin highlights the majestic Great Pipe Organ within the Musikverein’s Golden Concert Hall. This historic organ, installed in the 1910s, adds a touch of tradition to the coin’s design. Inscriptions read REPUBLIK OSTERREICH, 1 UNZE PLATIN 999.5, 2023, and 100 EURO.
Reverse
Turning the coin reveals a captivating back featuring a group of musical instruments. This ensemble pays tribute to the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, with a prominent cello in the center and two violins on either side. Other instruments like a harp, bassoon, and French horn complete the charming scene. The inscription includes WIENER PHILHARMONIKER.
History
Back in 1989, the Austrian Philharmonic series started with 1 oz and 1/4 oz gold coins, designed for investors. As time went on, more sizes were added in 1991, 1994, and 2014. Then, in 2008, silver coins joined the series, followed by platinum coins in 2016.
