First minted in 1987 by the Royal Mint, the British Britannia made its debut following the South African Krugerrand, Canadian Maple Leaf, Chinese Panda, and the American Eagle. Now, you can add the 2024 British Britannia 1 oz Gold Coins to your collection, available at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
The British Gold Britannia made its grand entrance in 1987 with various sizes, crafted from Crown gold alloy containing 91.67% gold. But in 2013, the Royal Mint decided to elevate the purity to 24-karat gold, making it .9999 pure gold.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2024 Britannia 1 oz Gold Coin features the new effigy of King Charles III, an exquisite 2022 design crafted by Martin Jennings. This left-profile relief of the king is unique as it depicts him without a crown, marking it as the first-ever portrait of the new monarch. Inscriptions on this side include CHARLES III, D.G. REX F.D., and 100 POUNDS.
Reverse
On the reverse side of 2024 British Britannia Gold Coins, behold the powerful figure of Britannia, proudly adorned with her Corinthian helmet and holding a trident in her right hand. She rests her left hand on the Union Jack shield, accompanied by an olive branch, symbolizing peace. Inscriptions read BRITANNIA, 2024, 1 OZ, 999.9, and FINE GOLD.
History
In 2023, the Royal Mint issued two versions of the British Britannia. The coins were already in production with Her Late Majesty’s effigy when the Queen passed in September 2022. As the Royal Mint developed a new portrait of His Majesty, 2023 coins were issued with Her Late Majesty’s effigy from Jody Clark. By early 2023, new coins were issued with His Majesty’s bust from Martin Jennings.

Most Provident orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. Once payments are processed, products are released to fulfillment for packaging and shipping.
All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
Provident is only able to ship to addresses in any of the 50 US states. This includes P.O. boxes and APO addresses.
