When you purchase the 5 oz Silver Cast Bar in this Provident Metals listing, you receive a new silver bar from the Germania Mint. Introduced in the second half of 2021, the 5 oz Silver Cast Bar is part of a larger series of bars. Each bar is individually housed in a black presentation box with a display window offering a view of the obverse side of the bar. The black box has the identifying hallmarks of the bar printed along its side eade. Multiples of 20 bars are available together in a cardboard box, with each bar inside its own black presentation box.

Obverse

On the obverse of 5 oz Silver Cast Bars from Germania Mint, you will find a number of stamped engravings. The mint logo features at the top of the design field and includes a shield with the double-headed eagle emblem of the mint. This is flanked by two large olive branches and includes a crown at the top with the inscription GERMANIA MINT below. The other inscriptions stamped on this face of the bar include 999.9 FINE SILVER 5 OZ. The bottom of the design field includes a unique serial number assigned to the individual bars by the mint.

Reverse

The reverse face of 5 oz Silver Cast Bars is left blank on purpose by the mint. Even though the design field is blank, you will notice some natural textures, lines, striations, and other features that result from the casting and cooling of the silver bars. On this side of the bar, the mint has included a hologram effect that allows you to verify the authenticity of the bar within the Germania Mint database.

History

Germania Mint cast silver bars are available in a total of seven options as of late 2021. The first options released were 100 Gram, 250 Gram, 500 Gram, and 1000 Gram bars with .9999 pure silver. An additional 1000 Gram bar is available with .999 pure silver content. The expansion into Troy ounces starts with this 5 oz silver bar and a 10 oz silver bar, both of which have .9999 pure silver content.
