History

The journey of Goldbacks began in 2019 with a set of five for Utah, coinciding with the Utah Legal Tender Act that sanctioned the use of gold and silver in the state. The popularity of these gold notes paved the way for other states like Nevada, New Hampshire, and Wyoming to follow suit. South Dakota became the fifth state to introduce and recognize these gold notes as voluntary currency. This means that in South Dakota, vendors have the discretion to accept these notes as currency.
