This effigy replaced the Standing Liberty Quarter design and comes with inscriptions of LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and a date mark.

Reverse

An American bald eagle is depicted in the reverse design of 90% Silver GEM Proof Washington Quarters. Also created by Flanagan in 1932, this visual shows a bald eagle perched on a sheaf of arrows with its wings spread wide. History

The Washington Quarter was issued from 1932 to 1964 with 90% silver content. These coins feature a balance of 10% copper. Starting in 1965, the US Mint issued the dime, quarter, and half dollar with a new cupronickel alloy as the price of silver rose well beyond the assigned face values of the coins.
