Obverse

On the obverse of each coin, you will see Susanna Blunts rendition of Queen Elizabeth II. This design was created in 2003, but the Queens image has been found on all Canadian coinage since she was coronated in 1952.

Reverse

Beautiful lilac flowers are shown on the reverse side of each coin in full color. In the image, the blooming flowers are seen in a few different scenarios. First, you get a close-up look at a couple of blooms, then you can see the flowers as they appear on their bushes, and then you see a clump of the flowers pulled off as a bouquet.

History

These coins are issued by the Royal Canadian Mint, which is the official sovereign mint of Canada. Founded in 1908, the RCM was originally just a single facility operated out of Ottawa. However, now there is also a second location in Winnipeg.
