A beaver in the Teton Range of Wyoming gazes up from a gnawed-on tree stump on the obverse of each one-ounce copper round. “BEAVER” is engraved at the top left of the design, which highlights the beautiful rocky, mountainous terrain in the background.

Home to diverse assemblages of animals – including the beaver – the Teton Range offers thick pines and expansive wetlands the beaver can use to build dens and forage. Part of the Rocky Mountains and Grand Teton National Park, the Teton Range climbs to 13,770 feet. The Rocky Mountains began forming millions of years ago through volcanic activity and other geological phenomena.

The reverse of each round in the American Wildlife Series features a bald eagle flying above a representation of the United States of America holding a banner in its beak that reads “By Thomas D Rogers, Sr.” “AMERICAN WILDLIFE SERIES” and the weight and purity of each round are inscribed.

Rogers, a former sculptor/engraver at the U.S. Mint, designed each obverse and reverse in the wildlife series. Each coin in this series celebrates an animal that inhabits some of the most stunning landscapes in America. Rogers created 10 designs in the series that will be available in both silver and Copper.
