Introducing the British Britannia – a symbol of British heritage, now available at Provident Metals. Today, you can add the British Britannia 1/2 oz Gold Coins to your collection or investment portfolio with ease, right here at Provident Metals.
Each British Britannia 1/2 oz Gold Coin comes meticulously protected in its own plastic flip, ensuring its brilliance is preserved. This prestigious gold coin has been available since 1987, initially minted with 22-karat gold (91.67% pure gold) from 1987 to 2012. From 2013 onwards, the Royal Mint upgraded the gold content to 24-karat gold, making it .9999 pure gold, reflecting unparalleled purity and value.
Please note that specific dates or designs cannot be guaranteed. Rest assured, your coin will be chosen at random after your payment clears, based on availability at the time of processing. In the event of multiple coin purchases, there is a possibility of receiving coins with the same date, design, and gold content.
The obverse of these exquisite Britannia 1/2 oz Gold Coins features the revered portrait of Queen Elizabeth II or King Charles III, depending on the year of issue. For coins dated 1987 to 2023, you will find the portrait of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Throughout the years, this series has featured three distinct portraits of the Queen, crafted by talented artists such as Raphael Maklouf (1987), Ian Rank-Broadley (1998-2015), and Jody Clark (2016-2023). Notably, in mid-2023, the series welcomed the first-ever Gold Britannia, featuring the portrait of King Charles III designed by Martin Jennings.
The reverse of the British Britannia Gold Coin proudly presents Britannia, an iconic figure designed by Philip Nathan in 1987. Britannia stands with poise, facing right, holding a trident and wearing a Corinthian helmet, symbolizing strength and protection. In her left hand, she holds an olive branch, resting it on the Union Jack shield, representing peace and the spirit of Britain.
