The Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests is the primary building within the Temple of Heaven Complex.

Reverse

In the reverse design element, the Chinese Mint uses a new image of the Giant Panda on the Chinese Panda 15 Gram Gold Coins. The Giant Panda is a unique species of bear native to the central highlands of China. The Giant Panda is notable for its black-and-white patches of fur. The panda is depicted in a new relief on the reverse each year.

History

Chinese Panda 15 Gram Gold Coins replaced the original Chinese Panda 1/2 oz Gold Coin offered from 1982 to 2015. The coins previously weighed 15.5515 Grams with a 27 mm diameter. The shift away from Troy oz to Grams in 2016 resulted in the new coin shedding a minimal amount of weight to an even 15 Grams, with the 27 mm diameter remaining unchanged.
