The first coin to be released in the Canadian Silver Wildlife Series, the 2011 Silver Wolf, is composed of 1 troy oz of .9999 pure silver. These off-quality coins may contain scratches, stains, toning, nicks, rim-dings or other minor imperfections.
The reverse of each 1 oz silver coin bears the image of a timber wolf standing beneath a full moon, pine trees just behind him. It is inscribed with the words “CANADA,” “9999” and “FINE SILVER 1 OZ ARGENT PUR.”
Considered legal tender in Canada, the obverse of each 2011 Silver Wolf features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, along with its face value of $5, which makes it a highly-recognizable, trusted means of barter in an emergency.
