ONe of the prettiest coins I have.

This is still my favorite in the series. The ship is beautifully rendered and detailed in high relief that flows right into the distance. You can almost taste the salt water and hear the waves crashing. I have all three in the series now and still wish they had been numbered. Great value, great piece.

Overall a very nice round. I think that the ship would have stood much better had the artist used less engraving in the background (clouds), just a few wispy clouds with the moon would have been sufficient.

Bought some of these when they first came out. Increased in value 20 bucks a coin so far with the spot price in sliver going down

Well, I wish I’d bought more. A lot more. These are the best looking rounds I’ve ever seen. The premium over spot will be very easy to recover, if one were to have to sell. The second, “siren” is also very good but doesn’t come close to the privateer. I will buy all in this series, and pay with a smile.

Walk the plank – A walk beyond the end of a ships plank to drown at sea an’ visit Davey Jones’ locker! Wench – A piratical way to address a familiar lady…careful with this one mates! I bought a couple of these to use as pendants for the boys. I plan on encasing them in a leather band and attaching them to a silver chain. They will love these in their stockings this year. Arggggg.

These are among my favorite pieces. When I read that it was limited and that there would be a series of the rounds i was even happier. I can’t wait for the new rounds to come out… For those looking for a review… I have never seen this much detail in a minted item… if you like the pictures you’ll love the rounds

I had to have one.
I only buy bars so I did not know what to expect. Far more “shiny” than the depicted one means less apparent detail until it darkens up some, but that’s okay.
Suuuuper raised edge gives it the feel of a much heavier coin, and at 2oz that’s saying something. I put it next to a silver dollar and it’s about 4x as thick as well as having a bigger diameter. Some clever design went into making such a beast of a coin out of just two ounces.

Wow! This is such an awesome round for anyone with a liking for pirate themes. Everyone in my home thinks highly of it.

Absolutely Superb, Extremely High Relief rendering on a 2 ounce piece of silver! Reminiscent of some older bronze pieces with the craftsmanship of the old masters.

I highly recommend this piece to anybody that is looking for high detailed collectible bullion.

This really is a fantastic coin. I’m glad they came out with a capsule for it. Now I just need to make some sort of pirate themed display case for it. And buy a few more. The detail is unbelievable.

Provident has definitely set the standard for bullion mints with their incredible designs. Their rounds have more detail and depth than anything else on the market. I do, sometimes, have a problem paying the premium over spot for the rounds but I see them as both a piece of art and an investment. The secondary market has been kind to these artistic rounds as well!

I usually stick to Australian and Canadian bullion but this image intrigued me so I pick it up. I like it so much I will be getting more for me and as gifts. nice!

I was on the fence about ordering just a couple of these rounds versus a roll (plus a couple). I ended up getting the roll and I’m glad I did. This is the kind of silver that gives you a rush when you see it for the first time. I hope to order more before the run out of stock. The next in the series can’t come soon enough.

Nice looking coin, but the top edge is like handling a steak knife. Nothing was done to smooth off the outer egde.

Someone gave me this “Pirate Coin” for a present and I cannot believe the detail and awesome craftsmanship that went in to this work of art. I like it so much I am going to buy a few more for myself and an extra one for my retired Navy buddy who will probably be just as amazed as I am! This is a “must have” for your coin portfolio.

Wow! is all that can be said. No silver buyer should be without at least a few of these. The detail is insane! I had to get more of these since stacking these beauties makes you feel like you just opened a chest full of treasure!

I don’t often buy private mint bullion (I usually stick to Canadian, US, or Perth mints), but I loved the look of this round when I saw it on the website. It looks just as beautiful in person. I’m getting more for myself, and a few to give as gifts.

Like with most low ounce rounds and bars the premium is huge. I prefer buying things in 10oz and up but this round is beautiful and the design is fun to show off. As long as you are only buying for the aesthetic purpose and to add to a collection it is fine…not a good investment otherwise.

I thought it was very nice, especially considering its a generic silver round.The artwork is beautiful and I like the thickness…I jusgt wish they would come out with a airtite for the Privateer…Very nice coin!

I have no doubt that this will be worth exponentially more in a decade. I just received my shipment and immediately ordered more for fear of it being sold out very soon.

The artwork on the Privateer rounds is superb. I ordered my first one from one of those big internet stores. I was so impressed with the round, that I decided to add 4 more to my collection. I’m glad to see the three top names banding together to form a mint. If collectively, your product is as good as you all are individually, (and so far I like what I see) we will do much business together!

These are beautifully stamped and highly detailed. The thickness plus the Ultra High Relief finish is awesome. I would have given it 5 stars but the price keeps going up.

I was very excited to order it and it did not disappoint when it arrived. Solid and well executed, it quickly became one of my favorite pieces in my collection.

I was excited to receive these rounds, a high relief design and well executed. Like others have mentioned, the round looks much better in person, you can really appreciate the depth and details as you look further into the impression. The only negative I can see is that these rounds should have the year impressed within the design, this could be changed each year and increase the collectability in future years. There is no mention of these being a limited release, this could also hurt the further collectability if there is a flood of these in the market. Of course they will always maintain their intrinsic value for the silver content.

Absolutely a Homerun on this thick 2 ounce round loved the detail and feel… Looking forward to purchasing more in the near future. Captain Jack Sparrow would be proud Maties……..

I am mostly a bullion only guy, but after seeing the design I had to order a few of these. They look even better in person. This is one really well struck coin. The detail and relief are amazing. I thought it had a minute die crack on the reverse but it was actually a piece of the ships rigging blowing off the sail. Impressive.

The size is perfect to give it that “chunky” feel. Really well done piece. I will definitely be getting a few more for gifts.

Excellent detailing, I like the fact the rim is higher than the relief. Thought from the photos it would have a patina.

Awesomely detailed coin! Love the “Deep Dish” recess that is protecting the High Relief design. Also makes the coin look SUPER thick! The sucker is hefty too! Would be nice if there was some kind of Airtite case for this though, hate to leave it in a vinyl sleeve. I haven’t found anything that would fit it though. Please design an Airtite for this coin PM!! In any case, the coin looks bad a** and like others here…I hope they do a series. That would be awesome!

Great detail! The high relief is outstanding! Nice chunky feel due to the 2 oz. weight in a 1 oz. size. This is the best looking coin in my stack! I should have bought more, since the price has already gone up significantly. I will still probably buy more. Great job Provident!

I just received my privateer coin. While gorgeous is an accurate description, an even better would be BAD A**! As in this is one bad a** coin! Wow, Provident you just have one grand slam after another! Well done.

Way cool ! I would love to see a series dedicated to pirates and pieces of eight. Gonna grab me some of that swag and if you don’t, you can walk the plank you scurvy dogs.

I just got my 2 Oz Privateer Ultra High Relief Silver Round and it is so cool. Goes way past my expectations. Provident has done it yet once again. Just wish it came with an air tight case to help protect my “treasure”

5 stars all the way. This may be one of the coolest silver coins I’ve ever purchased. The detail and relief on the coin are incredible. I could not be happier that I pulled the trigger I just wish I had ordered more of them. As soon as I saw it in my hands I came on to order more and I see it’s gone up a little bit (despite a drop in silver), but guess that is just supply and demand. I see it is also delayed but I think I might order a few more anyway. This will be a cool present to give as birthdays and Christmas get closer!

I just received mine today and this ranks up there with the prospector as an unexpected hit! The level of detail on both sides is wonderful. If you like stacking bullion coins – I highly recommend these for your next purchase. The thickness and the weight of each coin is a perfect balance!

Beautiful coin with great detail. I really love the double thickness of it. I just wish someone would make an airtite that it would fit into or if anyone out there has a recommendation on how to keep the coin safe id love to hear it.

For generic bullion this round is top notch. The artist is amazingly talented. The US mint could use some new blood. This artist should apply.

Never bought a silver coin on artistic value other than this coin. Love the 2 oz size as well. Usually just buy cheapest coin available but just could not resist. I have not seen the coin in person but if even comes close to the quality of the prospector coins this will be a classic which is rare for private mint manufacturing!

How cool, a coin about pirates. I sometimes feel like a pirate when silver is under the cost of mining it. LOL, it’s cheaper than the dirt where they find it right now! I had to pre- order these. I know the quality of Provident coins so I can’t wait to see it when it arrives.
