Morgan Dollar Silver Coins from the United States Mint enjoyed the second-longest run in production. The Morgan Dollar design replaced the Seated Liberty design and was issued across several decades from the 1870s and 1900s to one final strike in the 1920s. These coins continue to attract the attention of silver collectors in the 21st century. Provident Metals now has Morgan Dollar Silver 5-Coin Sets available to you for purchase online with PCGS certifications.

When you purchase one of these Morgan Dollar Silver 5-Coin Sets online at Provident Metals, you will receive a total of five coins from the original mintage series for the Morgan Dollar. Each one of the coins in this set comes with a Mint State 63 certification from the PCGS. Coins in this condition showcase impaired mint luster, with small contact marks scattered throughout the coins field and a few small hairlines visible without magnification. Heavier contact marks are possible, as well as small patches.

In this listing, you will receive five individual Morgan Dollar Silver Coins with differing date marks. None of the coins you receive will have the same date marks. Instead, each coin will have a different date mark from the range of 1878 to 1904.

Obverse

Lady Liberty is captured in left-profile relief on the obverse of Morgan Dollar Silver Coins in this 5-Coin Set. The image shows Liberty wearing a coronet crown with an inscription of LIBERTY. She is also shown wearing a wreath crown and a Phrygian cap as strands of curly hair run down her neck. There are 13 stars on this face of the coin with an inscription of E PLURIBUS UNUM above and date marks below.

Reverse

The heraldic eagle of the United States is depicted in the reverse design of the coins in the Morgan Dollar Silver 5-Coin Sets. The image shows a front-facing bald eagle with the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace in its talons. The design element includes a laurel wreath around the eagle with inscriptions of UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, IN GOD WE TRUST, and ONE DOLLAR.

History

Morgan Dollar Silver Coins were issued by four mints between 1878 and 1904. The Philadelphia Mint did not issue the coins with mint marks. Above the D in DOLLAR on the reverse of coins from the San Francisco, New Orleans, and Carson City coins, you will find S, O, and CC mint marks, respectively. We cannot guarantee which of these date marks you may find on your coins.
