Celebrating one of history’s most captivating rulers, the obverse features Cleopatra rising from the surface of the round in high relief detail. The sculpt uses the incused style of ancient Egyptian hieroglyphic carvings. To her right, a cartouche signifies her royal lineage. To her left, the Eye of Horus is sculpted in a groundbreaking technique that features varying heights and depths, both incuse and raised above the field. You’ll also see a bowl of figs in the background and a poisonous snake called an asp slithering down her shoulder. It is widely believed that Cleopatra committed suicide through the lethal bite of an asp.
The reverse features an Egyptian pyramid, as well as the goddess Isis. Cleopatra was said to be the reincarnation of Isis. Below her is the banner of the scarab beetle, which was a symbol of great power in ancient Egyptian mythology. The hieroglyphics in the field were taken from ancient Egyptian papyri writings about Cleopatra. The round’s weight and purity rest on the outer wall of the Temple of Horus between a bed of lotus reeds blooming in the Nile.
Cleopatra is the first round in Provident’s exclusive Egyptian Gods series of 2 oz ultra high relief silver rounds. The obverse of each round features a different god or historical figure, while the reverse features a pyramid, ancient hieroglyphs, and devices important to the featured god.
Cleopatra was released with a limited run that has since ended. A select number of rounds with an antiqued finish and serialized edge were meant to be sent in for grading, but plans changed. Now we’re offering them to you!

I thought this coin was great before but now it is amazing. I have them both antiqued with a low mintage of 500 for both the Cleo and the Anubis. The detail comes to life so much more now in the antiqued finish. Expertly done. The rim is serialized and displays an "A" for Anubus or "C" for Cleopatra."
