This Trillion Dollar Zimbabwe Banknote Set was suspended from legal tender as the Zimbabwean Dollar in April 2009. Each set features four uncirculated notes, including the 100 Trillion Dollar Note, 50 Trillion Dollar Note, 20 Trillion Dollar Note and the 10 Trillion Dollar Note.
The design on the obverse portrays the Chiremba Balancing Rocks that can be seen throughout Zimbabwe and particularly in Matopos National Park and Epworth, Harare. The natural occurrence symbolizes the significance of development and the preservation of the environment. The currency grew in popularity when the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe decided to highlight this rock structure on their banknotes.
Each reverse offers a unique design featuring historical landmarks and cultural images of Zimbabwe.
The Trillion Dollar Banknote Series was created as a result of hyperinflation and used as legal tender until its suspension in 2009, before the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe legalized the use of foreign currencies, including the United States dollar, South African rand and more.
These banknotes are perfect novelty items or gifts for collectors and generate the “wow factor” we all enjoy. Here's the deal. There are a TON of "coin" websites out there offering pretty much the same iems at various prices! What I love about P.M. is stuff like this!! I received these today....I showed them to a bunch of folks in my office...they thought they were soooo cool! As much as I love coins...I crave new and unusual items that NONE of the other sites seem to have! My advice to "coin" websites...do what P.M. is doing...offer super cool coins at great prices...but, offer other items (knives, coin supplies, bullion, coin books, etc, etc.). Keep-up the good work!"
