The obverse showcases a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II designed by Royal Mint engraver, Jody Clark. This is the fifth portrait of Her Majesty to grace UK coinage during her long reign as a British monarch. New for 2018, a guilloche background design was added to the obverse. “ELIZABETH II” is inscribed, along with the coin’s denomination.
Britannia, the female embodiment of Great Britain, stands tall on the reverse, designed by Philip Nathan. She holds Poseidon’s trident in one hand and a shield and olive branch in the other. The name Britannia is based on Greek and Roman geographical terms. Inscriptions include “BRITANNIA” and the coin’s weight, purity, and year of issue.
The Silver Britannia was first released in 1997, which became popular enough around the globe to prompt the creation of the Gold Britannia. Now the Platinum Britannia joins the family for the first time in 2018.
Platinum Britannias ship in brilliant uncirculated condition as received from the mint. Individual coins come in plastic flips, with higher quantities available in plastic tubes and monster boxes.

For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
