British Royal Mint
Invest in your financial security will Gold and Silver Bullion from the British Royal Mint. Because the Bullion manufactured by The Royal Mint is supported by the British national government, and because the mint employs industry leading minting practices and quality standards, each coin qualifies for a precious metal IRA.
The British Royal Mint annually releases the Silver Britannia and the Gold Britannia. The 1 oz Silver Britannia is available in single, roll, and monster box quantities. The 1 oz and 1/10 oz Gold Britannia is also available.
The obverse of these coins features an effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. In 2015, Queen Elizabeth II became the longest reigning monarch in United Kingdom history. To celebrate this honor, a new effigy was designed by Jody Clark. The effigy depicts an elegant, right facing Queen Elizabeth wearing her crown. The obverse is inscribed with The Queen’s name, and legal tender value of the coin.
The reverse of these gold and silver coins features Britannia, a Greek goddess that represents the British Isles. She holds a trident in her right hand and a shield and olive branch in her left. The reverse is also inscribed with “BRITANNIA”, the year, and the metal weight and purity.
The Royal Mint began as the London Mint, and was one of many mints in the United Kingdom in the 800s. By the 1200s, the London Mint had moved to the Tower of London and achieved a minting monopoly over the succeeding 500 years. Sir Isaac Newton, the brilliant mathematician, held the post of Master of the Royal Mint from 1699 until his death in 1727. Newton was responsible, albeit unofficially, for moving currency from the Pound Sterling standard to the Gold standard in 1717.
Over time, the Mint changed from being the pet project of the Royal family to now operating as a limited company. It mints coins for the United Kingdom as well as 60 other countries, creating coins, collectibles, and medals. The mint alone produces 15 percent of the world’s coin-based currency!
The British Royal Mint has been a consistent manufacturer of beautiful and reliable currency and bullion since its humble beginnings over 1000 years ago.
