Design

She wears a Corinthian helmet on her head. History

Sophia is depicted as a female personification for wisdom. This is rooted in the Ancient Greek word Sophia that was translated as cleverness and skill, though other translations of the term included the philosophical use love of wisdom as written by Plato. Sophias figure eventually became a female personification in the Orthodox and Roman Catholic Churches as a symbol of divine wisdom in the Holy Wisdom.
