Among the most popular gold bar producers is Argor-Heraeus. This once-private company was founded in 1951 in Switzerland. By 1986 they had merged with the German Heraeus Group to form Argor-Heraeus. They now offer some of the more interesting gold bullion products on the market. Learn more about their gold bars here at Provident Metals.
One of the more unique options for gold bars on the market is the Kinebar, offered by Argor-Heraeus. The Swiss-based refinery has been a part of the Union Bank of Switzerland since 1973. In 1993, the two created the KInebar technology to apply to the reverse field of minted gold ingots.
Kinebars feature a holographic element to give these bars a unique look. The Argor logo is seen in the center along with the Kinegram embossing. This element gives the reverse field a sort of holographic appearance showcasing a multitude of colors. The pattern and colors shown change depending on the angle you’re viewing the bar.
Kinebars are offered in sealed assay cards. This packaging features authentication information such as a serial number and the signature of the certified assayer.
Like PAMP Suisse, Argor-Heraeus also offers a line of lunar-themed gold bars for purchase. These bars come in an array of smaller sizes. Like other minted ingots sold by Argor-Heraeus, they’ll arrive in a sealed assay card. However, these bars have a limited mintage.
This series began in 2020 with the Year of the Rat, the first animal in the Zodiac cycle. To date, there have been the following issues:
These gold bars feature the animal along with the traditional Chinese character for that animal on the obverse. The reverse displays identifying marks of the bar as well as the logo for Argor-Heraeus.
