strong>Invest in Gold & Silver from South Africa’s Rand Refinery

Operating the largest single-site refining and smelting facility in the world, Rand Refinery has been a global leader in the precious metals industry for nearly a century. Its facility in Germiston, South Africa produces a variety of gold and silver cast bars, minted bars and coins, medallions and much more.

The Chamber of Mines established the Rand Refinery in 1920 to refine all of the mined gold in South Africa. Since operations commenced, the company has refined roughly 50,000 tons of gold, or about a third of the world’s mined gold.

Rand Refinery supplies all of the gold manufactured by the South African Mint Company, who by law is the only company to produce legal tender coins in South Africa, like the famous Kruggerand. The refinery is the exclusive supplier of coin blanks used to create the South African Gold Kruggerands, one of the most popular and widely-traded coins in the world.

Along with their high-quality refining and smelting of gold and silver, Rand Refinery also offers logistics, evaluations and vault services. They have accumulated numerous accolades throughout the years and are one of just five international London Bullion Market Association referees and the only LBMA referee in the Southern Hemisphere.
