SilverTowne History

In 1949, Leon Hendrickson began a business venture in the precious metals and numismatics industry he named SilverTowne. Prior to its creation, Hendricks was an entrepreneur with several businesses under his command. He then partnered with his parents to add a restaurant to his work portfolio. While doing so, he became acquainted with coins from all over the world; this sparked his interest in numismatics and led to the creation of SilverTowne.

For many years, SilverTowne operated as a showroom and dealer of precious metals and numismatics; however, in 1973, Hendrickson realized the opportunity to expand SilverTowne’s services to include minting proprietary bullion products and the SilverTowne Mint was born. Production was successful, and in 1985, the mint expanded its operations and enlarged its facilities.

Today, the private mint is one of the most well-known in all of America.

SilverTowne Silver Rounds

At Provident Metals we have several silver rounds available from SilverTowne. This includes some of their own unique series as well as popular iconic coin designs.

• Emoji Series: These rounds arrive individually in flips in tubes of 20 and showcase popular emojis on the obverse. Designs include the smiley face, alien, and rocket ship among others.
• Armed Forces: This series shows the emblems of well-known Armed Forces on the obverse. This includes the Navy, the Army, and more.
• Medieval Legends: This series shows imagery from popular Medieval tales such as Robin Hood, the Pied Piper, Tristan and Isolde, and more.

Some of the most popular US coin images can be seen on silver rounds as well from SilverTowne. Designs include the following:

• Buffalo Round: Showcases the James Earle Fraser imagery seen on the Buffalo Nickel. A Native American male is on the obverse while an American bison is on the reverse.
• Walking Liberty Round: Features the popular Walking Liberty image created by Adolph A. Weinman. This eft-profile portrait of Lady Liberty is now seen on the American Eagle Silver Coin.

SilverTowne Silver Bars

SilverTowne also offers a wide array of cast and minted ingot silver bars. These bars range in size from 1 oz to 100 oz, with each having a purity of at least .999 silver.

Popular designs seen are the following:

• Pony Bar: These cast bars show the image of a Pony Express rider on the obverse. Made from .999 pure silver, they’ll arrive in either sealed plastic (for smaller sizes) or individual boxes (for larger ones).
• American Flag Bars: These bars show the 50 stars and 13 stripes of the American flag on a minted ingot. These bars are available in sizes ranging from 1 oz to 10 oz. Also available are Police Bars and Firefighter Bars, which have a colorized blue line and red line, respectively.
• Buffalo Bars: These bars, available in sizes ranging from 1 oz to 10 oz, showcase James Earle Fraser’s Buffalo Nickel imagery.
• Lunar Bars: These bars feature unique designs based on the animals seen in the Chinese zodiac. The obverse will show the lunar animal along with the traditional Chinese character for that animal.

Silver Shot

SilverTowne also offers silver shot. Silver shot is essentially silver in its rawest form. After it is minted, silver is refined into silver grain that is then sold to refiners. Available in shot in sizes ranging from 10 Troy oz to 1 kilogram.

Silver Bullets

All of our silver bullets that we offer are also courtesy of SilverTowne. These bullets are made from .999 pure silver and are replicas of actual ammunition rounds. Available are the following:

• .45 Caliber (1 oz)
• .308 (2 oz)
• 12 Gauge (5 oz)
• .50 Caliber (10 0z)

Each option is also available as rhodium-plated.
